Funny how things work

Naheed Nenshi becomes Canada's first Muslim Mayor.

I didn't get a chance to vote cause I'm over 150 miles away from my city on election night, but I still would have voted for him regardless.

After listening to him speak during the mayoral debates it was far to easy to decide who should be leading our city.

Turns out or world is starting to become a more accepting place. An African-American President and a Muslim Mayor of one of Canada's top 5 cities.

 

At least until the haters get hold of this thread .

Oh there is already people on facebook trouncing his capture of the reins.

Needless to say I've told them to shut the hell up if they don't like the way the democratic process works.

 

That's great!
Now if only you guys could stop calling us a bunch of racists just because we disagree with their polices or performance the world would become a more accepting place.

I don't care what color they are or what religion, as long as they do a good job, that's all that matters to me.
