Police: McAfee was soaked and shirtless

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Indianapolis Metro Police arrested Colts punter Pat McAfee early Wednesday morning after officers found him drunk and soaked with no shirt on.

Police were called to the 2000 block of Broad Ripple Avenue at North College Avenue at around 4:45 a.m. Wednesday for a suspicious person.

The 911 caller told police a white male with no shirt on approached her car while she was at a red light.

When officers arrived at the scene they confronted the man who was later identified as Pat McAfee.

An officer asked him if he had been swimming in the Broad Ripple Canal. McAfee responded, “I am not sure.” When asked why he was soaking wet. McAfee said “It was raining.” The officer asked McAfee where his shirt was and he stated, “It is in the water.”

McAfee submitted to a portable breathalyzer test and blew a .15.

At that time he was arrested for public intoxication and transported to an IMPD processing center.
