Sorry, I understand how that came across. I personally have no issue with atheism or any other belief or understanding. Some would disagree with me, but I think we've gotta get along out there and if someone is a productive member of society and in some capacity provides for themselves, then whatever you believe, or don't believe is none of my business, and definately not any thing for me to judge.

"Godless" isn't a literal term for me, it's more of the connotation it carries. When I relate it to someone like Grant, in what you quoted, I mean "bad" or as far as "evil." He may have been a devout Christian, I have no idea, and wouldn't change what I mean. I was taught history by some impassioned people, and it reflects in how I explain it. Hitler, Stalin and whoever else is generally considered evil would also be "Godless" in my book, regardless of beliefs.

Ah, OK. I thought you were pointing out something distinct about the Mexican flag. Gotcha.
    How very postmodern of you.

Shhh! the wife thinks I dont do mods on trucks anymore

Post modern Nah! I don’t think so but I have been called a liberal conservative LOL

No my values were awakened by leaving Iowa at 19 and joining the army.
Also nine years of living in Las Vegas helped a lot so my shock factor is a bit higher than many I meet.
I don’t like churches but I pray to the lord.
I didn’t scream don’t have sex to my teenage daughter but taught her to be safe.
I don’t smoke pot because it’s not worth losing my JOB (job = $) over but if it was legal I might smoking be right now .
In general I don’t want more taxes but I think there should be a flat tax even for those that are poor .
I am rambling and its early

Haha does kinda sound like Conservative liberal or a modern Conservative or something. Everyone is different and always will be, distinct characteristics of individuals is very rare in today's society and its good to see some distinctness...

not me, someone must have found it and voted cause it got refreshed on my subscribed thread list. i checked it out and nobody made any comments so i'm guessing it was just a random voter that revived it. i have a feeling it needs to go ahead and get locked before everyone gets all up in arms again

well. yeah probly. however, we didnt have a problem with it geting out of hand before. The other thread about this subject was someone starting off with a negative mood. i started this thread with a sense of un-bias. but it is hard to not show bias in any subject for that matter.

yeah i know this one didn't get too heated, but we have alot of new members since then and theres' no telling what direction this could take. we all have our minds made up about this subject anyway, no amount of debate will change that

I live in Alabama. I personally think the rebel flag looks ignorant and red-neck. I don't give it mcuh thought other then that.
