keep it up man, i have been quit for about 2 1/2 years now. The first month was probably the hardest, but just like any addiction I don't think you ever really truly get over it.

Congrats man! I'm 14 days into quitting Copenhagen. Hardest thing I've ever done so far: can't sleep, can't concentrate, almost gone apeshit on several employees...

Good to know were not alone in this private hell. Thanks, good luck.

Good luck man. that's a habit you'll be glad you got rid of. one of my friends used something called an e-cig to help him quit. it was pretty cool like smoking but with not as much nicotine and then eventually stop smoking those.

Congratulations, good on you. I myself quit June 1st 2009, I stopped for one reason and have decided not to start up again for countless other reasons. One of the best decisions I've ever made.

    Cheers!

Congrats, good for you. Think of the good healthy lungs you will begin to slowly gain back and the money you will save. Smart move. I wish you continued success. I have never smoked, never will.

It's the best decision you ever made!

I quit over five years ago. I can breathe better, and my hair and clothes don't stink. You save money! If I may suggest that what you where spending on smokes go straight to your best savings plan. It will be like you never missed the money. Five bucks a pack adds up man, think about it.

    Congrats!!

I quit about 15 years ago after smoking 2 or 3 packs a day for more than 20 years. Keep up the good work. Funny thing about quitting for me was I used to have dreams where I was smoking and wake up bummed out, then realizing I was only dreaming!

I smoked for about 23 years.

I got sick of hearing about it from the doc, wife...was in the office for a checkup and asked him about Chantix, and he dropped me a scrip to try.

I took the pills for a week, according to the instructions. Then went on the 'hot' pills. Next morning I woke up, grabbed a coffee and went out on the porch for the morning paper & smoke while I wake up. As soon as I put that butt out, I literally could not tell I had just smoked. I lit up another, burned it down, and 20 seconds later was right back where I started.

    That was it.

The wife, bless her, said I was a godawful prick for about two weeks. I picked up cooking as a hobby and put on 35 pounds (this sucks, but what a fun hobby to have!), and she too quit smoking about a year after I did. I have zero desire to smoke again, but I do miss it quite a bit. I *love* standing upwind of my buddies on their smoke breaks and smelling it!

That was....3.5 years ago now, my how time flies.

I have smoked for 35 years. Tried patches, gum, cold turkey. Nothing worked. I thought about trying chantax but didn't like the side effects it possibly could cause. I found this forum a month ago, have been vaping ever since with no craving for a cig whatsoever. Here is a link to the ecig forum. Hope it can help someone else the way it has helped me.

I am a habitual quitter. I quit every few months, but end up starting again eventually for no apparent reason at all. The hardest time for me is when I go out to drink, not having a smoke when I drink kills me and that’s when I end up starting again. I tried to quit drinking but that didn’t help either. The g/f hates it but I don't smoke around her, so she deals with it.
