If this is too political, please feel free to delete or close, I just wanted to see TW's opinion on it. Why the hell is it ok for kids in schools to wear Che Guevara t-shirts? Last time I checked, it wasn't "cool" or allowed to wear shirts representing murderous dictators.

Your argument insinuated that said kids are smart enough to know the history of Che. Kids don't think, they just buy what everyone else buys.

I see that, he did end various forms of racism in the country. However, I don't see how people nowadays can justify the genocide he commited.

I guess kids will always be stupid, but I am more angry at how the schools allow them to wear it.

I'm pretty sure there are people in the world saying the same things about Bush.

Never the less, didn't Che want to reform Cuba so it wouldn't be the States holiday retreat and give it medical care like what Canada does?

Yes, it's probably something that shouldn't be put up on here.

And the reason why they wear the shirts is because they think it's "cool"; they also absolutely don't have a clue about who he was and the horrible things he did.

I'd compare it to the troubling way on which Obama became a fad during 2008. There were a ton of empty votes/ t shirt wearers in his favor for no better reason than because it was the "cool" thing to do.

Yeah, I must apologize for kinda breaking TW's rules here. I have no problem with people disagreeing with me and having their own opinions on things. That is what makes America great. But seeing these kids who have absolutely no idea who Che was, whether for better or worse, is what really pisses me off. If they actually did their own research, and still admire him, fine. But I don't see it.

I'm betting about 5% could actually tell you who the hell Che was. I doubt they are making a statement about anything.

When was the last time you meet teens with purpose behind their fashion?

That's what differentiates teens from adults - decision making based on practicality. When I was a freshman in high school, I was seriously worried about what brands and shit I wore. I now have a much simpler process for dressing myself: Before leaving the house, I check to make sure I'm not naked. If not, I'm good to go.

Teens care about fashion because they have nothing better to do. The rest of us, with real problems and shit to do, don't really give a fuck if Che is on one's shirt or not or why. We're busy, and it doesn't matter.
