your ignorant. i have 2 pits, i have rescued one of them and they are the most caring dogs you could ever have. they stay inside my house with me, i have a blue pit and a red nose pit and they are the best dogs i have ever had, yes they bark and bare their teeth when someone shows up. but one word from me and they both go to their beds and lay down. its all training. if someone gets a dog and beats it and treats it like shit then yea, its gonna be mean and yea its gonna hurt someone. but its the owner not the dog. im sorry that your mind is set in the way it is but if thats what helps you sleep at night then so be it. but both of my neices climb all over my pits and they have never bared a tooth in harm to them. yes my prayers go out to the affected in this story, as they do in every dog attack story. but dont hate the breed for the actions of a few mis treated animals.

I completely agree with you. i have been bitten by 4 dogs, 1 lab(which was partially my fault) 2 Pomeraneins ( i really dis like thos little shits but i will tolerate the trained ones) and a mutt, it was ran over and crushed from the waist down and i went to get it out of the road and in the pain it was in it snapped and got my hand. i have never been bitten by a pit.

I agree with the aggressiveness issue of pits

    YUP

    X10 on this Greg

Yeah, seems more like irresponsible owners than anything else..

Like mentioned the Pitbull is a result of breeding Terriers w/agressive,predator like behavior, & they ARE agressive towards other animals, generally receptive to humans but theres exceptions, problem with pits is when they go off its damned near impossible to reel them back in without equally aggressive tactics that sometimes means "putting them down" to get them to release. Not a good trait for a family pet..just my $.02....

This is the dumbest shit I have ever heard....I'm tired of these pitbull debates, some people just don't understand/think before they speak.

These dogs were some backyard bred dogs that shouldn't have been owned by these kind of owners that don't know how to raise a "bully breed." They are a unique breed that require unique training and a TON of excercise. The breed "pitbull" is not recognized by the AKC, the AKC breed is the American Stafforshire terrier. Am staffs are bred to be loyal family dogs and will only be aggressive if taught. I half agree with what someone said earlier about having to have a license or training before they are allowed to own these dogs. Too many people get them because they are "cool"......too many followers. My heart goes out to that little girls family.

I hate pits. I have a thourough history with them too, not just bitching, and I like dogs more than most people.

I have a huge scar down the back of my left hand from when "the nice family pit" suddenly decided to act on its genetics and leap over a table to attack me and my dog sitting on my couch at my house. I had to defend myself with my fists until I could stand up to kick the shit out of it... me and my dog both bloody. "He's never done that before"... 6 years old, random attack.

My mom likes to rescue dogs, she rescued a pit, it seems to be good with people but is socially retarded with other dogs. After several fights she has determined it just can't leave the house. Great with people, just don't let it see your dog.

There are more stories, a scar on my leg, and on my right hand and forearm; moral of the story is pits just shouldn't be owned by anyone except for single, responsible, dog-educated, men/women. Granted, they are great looking dogs, beautiful beasts, loyal to their owners, but they just can't be trusted.

i agree with the highlighted. your mom messed up by bringing an unknown dog into a house with other animals. most dogs are aggressive towards other dogs if not socialized early.

okay not trying to start anything between you and me, i agree it takes a very responsible owner to have one, i run mine at least a mile every morning. but were these "pits" that attacked you pure bred or back yard bred?
