Have you ever tried to cross your beloved city during rush hour between 1 pm till 8 pm?

4 hours easily especially if you traveling north to south just in LA and Orange county--all the way to SD.

psshhh anything past the e46 is just a luxury car, nothing beats the weight distribution of the e36/46 M3s

Well if it makes me a... I'm okay with that. I have a e36 M3 and a e66. Both of them are a blast to drive but aren't as good in the whoops! :)

I love San Diego. I've been here since 1981. There is traffic, but it is nowhere near as bad as Los Angeles. Desert, mountains and beaches are all within 75 miles of each other.

Housing isn't that bad right now either. I live in Rancho Bernardo, near Escondido. You can get a nice 1500 sq ft home with a 2 car garage in the complex I live in for $399K. 2br Condos can be had for a lot cheaper ($250K and below).

Check out the prices in the local paper's website (Union Tribune):
    http://www.signonsandiego.com

Gas is high and your annual registration will be higher (~$400 for my truck last year).

For handguns, California has a "Safe Guns" list that applies to the purchasing of a handgun in California (it doesn't apply to possession of the gun if you own it already). Manufacturerers have to have their weapons tested and pay an annual fee to the state to have their guns on the list. They have to pay a different fee for each configuration. So a handgun family that comes in a 4" barrel or a 6" barrel are considered two different guns. Same with Stainless models vs. blued models. As a result, the selections are more limited. Magazine capacities for clip fed handguns are limited to 10 rounds.

    http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=347448

For rifles, they don't allow detachable magazines. So any AR-15 they sell has the magazine permanently attached to the weapon. It requires to shooter to manually reload the weapon vs. shoving in a new clip. I believe Shotguns are limited to a 3 round tube.

Here's a good site related to guns in California:
