I second that. This is fun and very interesting though.

 

Ths clothes match the era for both, but in my non-expert opinion it is closer to late 1800's rather than early 1900's (although both are very similar). I'm trying to search for a building match for the big one in back. I can't seem to find a match at the St. Louis World fair or in St. Louis as a whole for that matter.

 

Post them up! You have historically significant images in your possession and releasing them to the Internet assures that they'll be around for future generations. Not that the majority of them care... Though, I suppose they will when they are older.

No I don't, sadly. I have another one with a much larger group, some with missing limbs.

The Banner appears to have the letters "CONSIG_ _ _" on it?

 

Correct. The back of the photo says "California Tree". The other pics I have posted had nothing written on the backs.

 

The banner feature looks like it has to be the Georgia Militia Flag which has an arch over three columns with the word "CONSTITUTION" on it. The folds in the banner may be hiding all the letters.....

 

The medals some of them are wearing is the Southern Cross of Honor.

this is a really interesting thread. though I have absolutely NO IDEA what these things are, it is really cool to see what it was like back in different time periods. OP, can you keep posting some of your pictures up as you find them? You truly do have some significant pieces of history.
