Personally I feel like a jack ass showing off the truck. I didn't really build the truck for show. I built it for me. It's a hobby, not a ego boost. Most people I know can't or wouldn't spend the $ I have spent. The truck is bought by me, and all mods are installed by me.

my 2011 is stock and probably will be since its my work vehicle/DD.

Still, when I have 6 antennas in the back with 800lb worth of appleton generator plug+cable assemblies. people dont believe that I get almost 24mpg total out of 'er.

In today's times, gas mileage to some people is as important as lift, Horsepower and displacement was a year ago.

    I hear ya man!

I've seen people rubber neck me when they pass me on the highway. My truck isn't super jacked up like 90% of the ½, 3/4 or 1 ton domestics with 8" lifts on them, but people still seem to stare.

I always love to talk to anyone who likes my truck or whose truck I like. It's cool to have people appreciate your vehicle.

i had a funny experience the other night i went through a flooded out police barricade and all the cops saw my truck fording like 4 feet of water.
they all gathered around and where asking all these questions i don't think they knew what the snorkel was lol it was kind of funny.

it was also the first time my wife was digging the truck as well because up until this point it has been a money pit lol.

    .
I had a 20-something kid at the auto parts store yesterday, when he asked me what vehicle I had to check on the computer, when I said Tacoma, his eyes lit up, and he asked "four door? Color?", he seemed to dig it, I was on my bike but I told him after I finish changing the diff fluids I'll stop by on my way outts town. So I dropped by to let him check out the truck, let him sit in it and fire the engine, (absolutely NO ONE drives this truck but me), I showed him the mods I did, told him about TW, I did it because he reminded me of myself when I was busting my ass in my little Saturn while I dreamed of this truck. I ached for this truck, I busted my ass to get it and it feels good when someone ogles it.

I see a ton of tacomas around Fayetteville. They're mostly stock but some MIL guys drop some nice deployment cash on a few. I had a guy in a lifted flat black 2nd gen give my truck the stare down on skibo (I did the same to his). I'm just glad I got the TacomaWorld.com sticker on the truck.

The one thing people always notice and compliment is about the dumbest mod ever... my "Taco" badges. People think its awesome and it even saved me a dead battery once... A kid walked by me at school and was like "Hey you drive the Taco truck right? You left your lights on"

It just kinda somehow stands out somehow (not really sure) and EVERYONE knows its mine, which can be good and bad

i only hate the fact that random people stalk me from the internet (TW) and find me. and somehow get my number/fb. and I don't know who they are.
