Ive been riding around town in my new (to me) Tacoma. Before this i used to drive a jeep wrangler. Both which when you see the same model you would wave to them. Do you guys in your town have this or is it just a jeep thing?

In both Austin and Ft Worth, I've never had anyone return a wave. So I stopped. Tacomas aren't really a niche vehicle like Jeeps and motorcycles are.

It may be an area thing. I do it sometimes, but usually do not get a response back. If I go out away from the city people are more responsive & not so uptight.

    Welcome to TW!

Well I know in VA it seems like all Taco owners wave however out here in CA the only thing it seems you can get is the finger. Damn I hate CA!!

As you flip the finger wave back and forth. This way you will feel good that you brightend someones day. At least it was a friendly flip off. :)

I've tried waving...but never get a response. Usually it's some old-fart who can't even see 5 feet past his truck, let alone see you waving at him. Those folks aren't *enthusiasts* anyway.

If I see a nicely modified one ...I'll make the extra effort to wave or nod or something to acknowlege they've got a nice truck. They'll usually nod back (like in passing).

The jeep, motorcycle, and corvette waves have been around for YEARS AND YEARS. That's something that's been a part of history for a long time.

Of course you can try to start some tacoma 'history' but EVERYONE's gotta do it and do it all the time so people 'catch on'.

In my hill jack area of this country we typically wave at all trucks we pass.......and since I've had my Taco I've noticed that the other Toy and Taco truck owners always stare and wave back..........

Since I got the YJ, I do the Jeep wave, which made me think about a Tacoma wave (or the lack thereof), but most people don't even notice other trucks--I look and I notice that others don't, so a wave probably wouldn't work around here. Too bad.

People in metro-Phoenix turn into HUGE DICKS behind the wheel. I don't wave like I did when I was growing up in the country because NO ONE waves back. Shit, I can't even get an acknowledgement from someone passing on the sidewalk anymore.

I'm from NJ. I automatically assume anyone waving is using only one finger.

The thing is, I don't see that many Tacoma's around here anyway. I saw a nice white one the other day in the WalMart parking lot with dual exhaust and a woman driving. I was pretty impressed, actually. Other than that, there's the old security guard at my job who got the exact same truck as me because he liked mine so much. I mean, I work with almost 1000 people and there's only one other Tacoma.
