The thread ends without saying what ended up happening. Care to share what the end verdict was and how you got your money back?

I currently have an add on CL to help my dad try to sell a 2007 Mustang Shelby GT with 2700 miles on it. When we first listed it I had the price at $32,000 and had pictures and explained it was a fairly rare car. I had a lady call and ask me why I as selling a car like this for $3200. She hung up on me when I told her that she read it wrong and was missing a zero.

I always bring a gun with me when I buy or sell things on craigslist. I'm amazed at how many people think their sob story will reduce my price.

This is what typically happens with ads put on CL. Don't get me wrong, there are some decent people buying stuff on CL, you just have to realize that about 10% of the people that contact you are actually legit. Below is an email I got yesterday on something I have listed. Read at the end....."I would love to call, but am a deaf".

    Hello

Thanks for the swift response to my mail,as the item is still
available, I will send a check to cover the cost of my purchase as am
completely satisfied with the advert.I will need the details of whom &
where to mail the draft. It will be delivered by the United Parcel
Service within 2-3 days. Please note 'United Parcel Service' do not
    deliver to P.O.Box addresses.

1.Name to be on the check
    2.Home address
    3.Mobile #

Kindly delete the advert on Craig's List as am totally committed to
buying from you to save me cost, My mover will be coming over for the
pick up right only after the payment as been delivered and I want you
to understand that, I would have love to call but am a deaf , So
please send me an email only.

    Thanks for your time

Yeah, I have gotten that exact email many times. I dont even reply to the emails unless they are very specific questions about the item.

I was selling my road bike last year and I usually ask for people to send me emails or they can text if they dont know how to email. My ad sated that I do not want trades and it was 500 firm. The following are some of the offers I received.

    1. Crap tickets to a Bobcats game
    2. Tickets to a Panthers Game
    3. 150 bucks
    4. 100 bucks and a 1 gen ipod nano
    5. 200 and a Printer

Eventually someone came with 500 cash and took the bike. Gotta love craigslist. I really thought I was gonna be offered cash and a 1st born son with the responses I was getting.

Me and my buddy were talkin about this yesterday,

he was selling 2 jetskis he originally pain 20k for, well he listed them for 6k... 6,000.00, some guy "mistaked" 6k for 600.00 lol and showed up and told my buddy "you gunna take the 600 or not" my friend didnt sell him the jet skis

I sell alot of shit on craigslist, for my family and freinds I sold my grandads miata and the price was 11k for 23k miles on a 2003 miata perfect condition. I had several emails "can you ship it" ... negative, also some guy asked if he could test drive it, but before hand he said he had no intention of buying... wow I thought it was funny atleast he was honest (did not test drive it lol)

Also sold a set of rims for my dakota 18" all fucked up for 400, guy shows up with no cash and tried to trade me his stock wheels =| smh he went to the atm and I got my money!

People are so funny how they want something for nothing, but when they sell they want above market value.

I sold my triumph motorcycle on ebay a few years ago. I was in orlando and the guy was coming from NOLA and was taking his kids to Disney and said he'd get it on the way out of town. Well he takes me aside when we first meet and discretely hands me an evelope full of cash and tells me that he told his wife he was only looking at it and hadn't bought it yet and to try and play it cool - like he was going to look at the bike, magically have $3k in cash and then buy it from me on the spot.

His wife wasn't stupid and caught on quick, started yelling and screaming at him, then took my helmet and said I had to give her a ride since she'd be on the back and wanted to know how it felt to ride bitch on that particular bike. We went down the block a bit. She flirted with me a little - he felt stupid. It was amusing
