Thanks!! I got the butterfly when I was 19 because I felt like I was spreading my wings and maturing at that time, as corny as that may sound. I had just finished two years of community college and was getting ready to transfer to a four-year college and a butterfly seemed appropriate.
As for the love and star... My first name is Amanda and my middle name is Star (really). Amanda comes from the Latin for love, and Star is a Cherokee Indian name that has been passed down from generation to generation in my family. I try to incorporate a star in each of my tattoos somehow, and this seemed like a different way to do it for this one.
