I got a past girlfriend this necklace along with the ring for it as well a few years ago. She liked it and the fact that the black diamonds were "different." I was trying to get the current girlfriend a present around Christmas time and sort of threw out the idea of this open hearts necklace (only regular diamonds), and she said it was weird looking and seemed like it was for an old lady. I also showed her some of the stuff with the black diamonds and she said they were just ugly. Not sure how your lady is, but I'd just stick with something traditional and simple. You can't really go wrong with that.

EDIT: apparently yellow gold is as ugly as a pile of shit. so stick with the silver or white gold too.

My wife says she doesn't like those. It just seems to impersonal and commercialish....

You really should have a poll on this thread, maybe could help with the decision.

I can't offer any input..... It's nice, but not my style either.

I just don't wear much jewelry anyway and I'd rather take the money and use it for other things.

Depends on the girl..... Does she wear a lot of jewelry? Does she own a lot of jewelry?
If she wears a lot and owns a lot already, then you can't go wrong with adding to her collection.
