yea. if you watch cnbc- plenty of oil , not enough refining capacity. refiners don't want to build new refineries. would put more gasoline out there , and drop the price , they aren't going to cut their own throat. also , another member mentioned the futures traders , maby someone should take a look at what's going on there. guaranteed someone's making billions ; off our backs.

I am pretty fortunate. My commute is only 5 miles and I fill my truck up about every 4-5 weeks. We take my wifes car everywhere, it gets 28-30 MPG.

Also, I do not feel like it is the governments responsibility to ensure that we (as Americans) pay less for gas.

The FED is printing new money up like crazy. Under QE2 the FED is creating 6.5 billion new dollars a month to buy US Treasuries. When you print more money, you devalue it. The more they print the less value our dollar has, and the higher all prices get. If they continue at this rate our dollar will be worth less until it is worthless. Gas will continue to rise, so will food and clothing. The days of cheap food and energy are coming to an end in America. You can thank your government and it's Federal Reserve for that.

Several factors have caused oil to suddenly fall ... including Bin laden's death, which caused oil speculators and future's traders to bail out of oil today.

In just one day (today) oil was down about $10.00 per gallon (from $110.00 to about $100.00). Wholesale gasoline was down ... 23 Cents ... today.

FOX said if we got Gaddafi, oil could fall a lot more.

i went from a matrix to the tacoma... used to get about 30 mpg, now about 17 mpg.

whatever. if it gets much worse i might get back into a hatchback, but for now it's not TOO bad. $4.19 by me. $6.00 is something else, that's just crazy.

I drive about 500 - 700 miles a week. I'm an onsite tech. Most is hwy and I average 20.5 - 21.5 MPG all the time.

Fortunately, my boss pays mileage so most of my gas is paid for, but wear and tear is also part of mileage. I'll probably hit 200k before I pay this thing off.

This is the first sensible statement I have seen in this thread. Gas isn't going up - the purchasing power of the currency is going down.

The only reason America has had cheap gas for so long is because the dollar is the world's reserve currency [not for too much longer] & oil is priced in dollars. . .

And don't worry, they're going to open up the reserve's all right - but not until oil is at $250 / barrel.
