Sucks Growing Up

I was just sitting here thinking...It's Easter and I don't have an Easter basket full of goodies waiting downstairs for me.

It sucks getting old





That is all.

 

But your family is nearby?? Cause there are some of us grownups who aren't anywhere near home (and I'm not nearly the worst off-I'm in a hotel and just separated from my family).
Lots of guys are stuck in a desert camp or Forward Operating Base somewhere or on a ship...

 

My family is about 2 hours away. As I wrote in another thread, they were here yesterday.

And I feel for the service men and women that are away for the holidays.
Thank you all for your services and make the best of today.

 

I'm very thankful to be a parent. My boy is 6 years old and we had a wonderful Easter morning this morning. The look on his face was priceless searching for those eggs, candy and some toys. It reminded me of my days as a child.

 

I grow older, but not up.

 

I'm stuck at work today, but my parents flew across Canada to be with extended family this easter.
Still just a happy easter phone call away though
