When this guy comes out here I will show him my setups, then his, and I think he will not be able to deny that his setups are awful. I tried to say stuff when the guy was here but he was towing that line and being kina dismissive-you know how that goes. I knew it was gonna suck when I saw him killing the contrast and sharpness down to almost nothing and increasing the color spectrums to clown levels

+1. One thing I have learned is that the calibrations are based off of the THX spec IIRC. These settings tend to display a lot of what your complaining about with the RGB's. While these settings a techinically correct, they almost always result with the end user not liking them. I am not saying that this guy didn't bone you over, but THX calibration and end user eyball calibatration are on different sides of the spectrum. They say after a while you will never know. I calibarated mine and I think it looks perfect. Sony Bravia KDL-46NX810 FTW!

I bought the Samsung 6300 46". If you saw his settings and the dullness and bleedy colors and the lime greens out of nowhere, you wouldn't be saying his settings are "correct". I think he must have done something wrong.

I got rid of my Sony to get this one-my stepson replaced his Bravia 52" with a Samsung 46" 3D model-now the Bravia sets in the frontroom doing nothing. He didn't like the picture quality. The Sony I got rid of kept turning on by itself, would reset all my settings out of nowhere, and threw a scary amount of wideband RFI all over my communications receivers. It was 12 years old.
    Samsung kicks Sony ass:D

I hear ya man, my sis bought one of those TVs, I can't remember the brand, but I don't like watching DVD movies on that thing. Something about it... I dunno. I'd rather watch DVDs on my laptop, haha.

it is certainly not bull. just because someone did a bad job on yours doesn't mean it's useless. that's like saying you got your front end aligned and now your car is worse than it was before (which we all know happens sometimes), therefore no one should ever align their car (and no, you cannot do as good a job yourself with the calibration dvd's - which by the way, is what i do because it's good enough for me and i'm too cheap to pay for a good calibration)

Do you have Netflix? If so, just rent "Digital Video Essentials - HD Basics" on Blu-Ray. They have a DVD version too, but who watches tho's anymore? lol

Doesn't matter. You can still call the credit card company to dispute.
they will usually ask if you tried to fix the issue with the merchant first or not.

Not sure if they will be able to reverse it, but simply paying off the bill should not affect that.

Thanks man- you know-in my settings the picture is just amazing-so says my family as well. No need for a calibration at all. The issue here is WTF I paid $200 for:) so I am lucky in the respect that I am not forced to view the pic through their calibration, at least I can go to my settings thank goodness. Thank you for that tip though.
