hope you get it fixed in time, i know how much effort you've put into that truck and it would be a shame if you cant run it.

I really dont want to sound like Debby Downer, but IMO going with last minute changes and a truck thats really never been tested is a TERRIBLE IDEA! I've been following your truck and dream to race the baja 1000, but the last thing you want to do is drive accross the United States with these gremlins.. A lot of people are somewhat nieve/uneducated on Baja, but man if you truck isn't 150% ready i wouldnt chance it. You break down out there in some places, your F'd!! Litterally, no tow trucks, nobody to help, not to mention the terrible corruption w/law enforcment-people.. I just think it might be a recipe for disaster. I'm rooting for you too, I myself am in the planning stages of building a truck for next years off-road season, but i think you'd be much better off building the truck right, getting the problems sorted. Another issue imo is starting your offroad racing career in the 1000 is a HUGE task in it self, most people that know anything about off-road racing probably think your crazy, or one of the more ballzy people willing to do baja...

I hope i didnt put more of a damper on your night, but i'm speaking from expeirence racing, and building race vehicles, i've done everything from endurance/xc racing, to building roadrace bikes, shifter karts ect.. You don't have every minute-tiny detail sorted, your going to be sorry when your 4000 miles away from home and you've made it 3 miles before somthing breaks, not to mention you have than 30 days! Take the winter to get it built up right, have some testing done with the truck and start fresh, thats my 2 cents t

Completely in agreement with you. My original goal was to have the truck finished (at least with the major stuff) by October 1st so I'd have a month to beat on it and work out kinks. Suspension fabrication this close to the race can only lead to problems.

Next step: Talk my family into buying me some triple bypass shocks for Christmas.
