Couldn't find actual pictures of mine cause they're both long gone but here are 2 old sleds I used to have:
    1973 John Deere 400
    [IMG]
    1979 John Deere Trailfire 440
    [IMG]
For it's age, the Trailfire wasn't a bad machine. I owned it in the mid 90's and it's still pick the skis up when you punched it. It still ran like a champ when I sold it!

Gee thanks. I sure hope not. Have many friends who own 2010 & 11 600s who have logged 1000s of trouble free miles on their etecs. But there are lemons I'd imagine.
Not sure what year your friend's sled was? That would stink! I know the 800s had some trouble last year but it was the first yr. in the 800.

Plus Every brand has its issues.... I could go on and on in regard to Polaris.
My Fusion's saw plenty of dealer time w/ updates & voltage issues. The IQ 600 lean burn downs due to the CFI & throttle bodies delaminating. I think the Pro R is a fantastic sled but honestly was tired of the Polaris numbers on mpg. 10-11 mpg isn't going to cut it. That is why I switched plus I liked the handling & the weight much better in the XP since we ride tight twisty trails, not wide ones.
Looking forward to a season like last years. We did close to 3k it was awesome.

^^ No doubt, he had an 08 I believe. Def grabbed a lemon thats for sure. I had some issues with my fusion, but it's been to hell and back and it's still running strong, for the most part. Gearing in within the next couple weeks to 22/40 with a kimpex shotgun x 1.25" with 1.235" studboy studs. Was going to drop my timing to 28* but figured I should probably leave it alone and stop trying to grenade it anymore then I already have.

Yes I really liked my Fusion a lot. Sounds like you have dialing yours in perfectly for the upcoming season. Gotta keep posting pics adding to the thread.

Wow I hope you were ok and not on the sled!
The color combo was one of my favorites along with the blue & black.
Did it total the sled or did you rebuild?

Bump for a chill is now in the air, days are getting shorter, have today off & road tripping to NH to a sled shop.

Stay right people don't get it, many close calls glad you are here to tell us & it sounds like it turned out ok for you. Sounds like your free sled rips! Do you lake race?

    Nice!
I love riding up in Maine, hopefully can back up there this year if funds work out for me. It is where I was introduced to the sport a few years ago. Rode as a passenger, then rented one up in Rangley & wanted my own!
If you have pics, post em up if you can.
