over 100 dead in tornado

Please send your prayers out to the families in Joplin Missouri. The tornado hit at about 5:45 p.m. last night, and as of now there is over 115 people dead. That is not counting the hundreds of people missing. Please send your love, thoughts, and prayers to towns surrounding Joplin too, because there is major flooding going on also. I live in a town 20 minutes away from Joplin, so it barely missed my town. The Weather Channel is running a special all day on there station about this tornado. Tonight at 8/7c p.m, there is a show about this tornado, they are calling it "Disaster in the Heartland". Watch it if you are interested, or search the internet. There are pictures and everything on news websites.

4 of Joplin's schools were destroyed too. We are lucky that it hit on a weekend so there were no kids at school when the tornado came through

April 27, is when all hell broke out around here, the National Weather Service said as many as 200 tornados ripped threw Alabama and surounding states, with at least 3 EF5s. I work with several people that lost everything, a couple of smaller towns were completely destroyed, looks like a war zone. I was very fortunate to have no damage. Prayers sent.

thats some crazy stuff. joplin is about 2.5 hours straight south. you would think that you would be safe in a hospital. that is too bad. we had some bad weather yesterday too. thoughts are out!

I used to stop in Joplin all the time when I would make the run from Tulsa to St. Louis on I-44. Cute little town.

From what I hear, about 2/3s of the town has suffered some pretty significant damage.
