Very nice. Do you happen to have any northern lights shots to share?

How's Dad doing?

I need a smarter phone. I get a lot of BS email with some important, time sensitive ones mixed in, so I need a phone with a bigger screen, faster processor, and 4G. I'm with Sprint, and the Samsung Galaxy S4 looks nice. It also looks like around $500 since I'm not eligible for an upgrade until February. It pisses me off that I have to foot the bill for the phone to deal with work, but that's the way it goes.

Does anyone have a good, legal source for late model smartphones?

Nope. I left it in Lo and it idled up against a wall. Now it won't go forward in Hi or Lo.

Diff or the transfer case?

Does it run in reverse?
Can you push it and does the driveshaft spin?

I can put it in N and push it forward and back, but Hi and Lo do nothing. I can spin the driveshaft no matter what gear it's in.

I probably should've mentioned it's a tractor.

I haven't opened it up yet, but I'm guessing it's a true differential. It looks like I have to buy the entire assembly instead of rebuilding it.

It's the yellow part with the gear selector at the top.

Dunno man... might take some specialized tools, but I'd pop that fukker open and see if it can be fixed. Never toss a piece of hardware that can be fixed.

I'm opening it tomorrow. It's all plastic inside, so I'm surprised I've gotten so many years of use out of it. A new part is around $30 delivered, which is about half the price of a new one. I saw a tip about cladding the stripped gears in JB Weld and re-forming the teeth. I need to keep an eye out for spares on trash day.

National Walking Sprinkler makes a hardier model for a lot more money.

No kidding. Metal gears would've prevented this crap, or a front shutoff.

Hey, not all of us can buy and sell aluminum bumpers on a whim. I think I'll soak in the hot tub and ponder this a bit more.
