    Hey guys,

I was curious as to how everyone mainly financing their mods and to maybe explore some options for some. I'm sure its not all one method but the majority....and you can vote for more than one FYI

Ex: I know Avid (light bar, sliders, etc) allows to pay in 2 monthly payments.

The same way you should pay for anything. With cash.

Financing mods, guns, and any other toys is completely irresponsible and idiotic. You don't need any of it, by definition, so you should absolutely never take on debt to pay for it, no exceptions.

save up and pay cash. i use a credit card, but treat it like a debit card -- it gets paid off IN FULL at the end of every month.

edit: jspadaro beat me to it. x2 to what he said!

I open new credit cards and max them out, use GF's student loans, max out current cards, get advance pay from the Navy, tax returns, home equity loan, "borrow" money from ailing grandparents retirement accounts, sell things I don't actually have on Ebay, and unsecured personal loans from bank.

    j/k, cash*

Cash is king. If you can't pay cash you can't afford it.

If I don't have the cash, I don't buy it. I only own 1 credit card and the only thing that goes on it is gas and that gets paid off right away

All of the above pretty much but I take it a step further by paying for my truck in cash (bank check) and waiting till I had 2 times the amount I needed and found an excellent deal. I would have felt stupid if I wrote a check for like 20k and then lost my job or something so I made sure I had 20k more on the side...I feel if I couldn't do that, I didn't deserve it. And I upgraded from a 1995 honda wagon beater...

As long as the truck looks badass debt isn't the issue, which mod is next is. Right

I remember some time ago the Italian mafia somehow sold hundreds of thousands of pre paid phone cards. Then it turns out none of them worked. It was a giant scam. But not after make millions ha

Though I haven't done any mods yet, I pay for mine with cash and if it's big (Like rims or tires or step bars or something) I get a little help from the family or just wait til a holiday. Lol

Main thing is... NEVER Take out of your savings! I don't have a bank account yet, I just save 1/3 of what I make. I've got about $500+ in the "savings" and a couple hundred spending money. Best thing is probably just set away a separate savings for your mod!

I use my credit card, I always have enough cash in hand. Trying to build my credit, so I'll buy some things with my credit card and pay it off.

    Building credit is a bitch!
