Back from Chicken. The herd wasn't there, so no caribou. Fun camping trip and 6x6 got a good workout. We couldn't wait around for them to get there, heard lots of rumors, but most valid seems to be they are hanging around Circle, AK, about 400 miles NW of Chicken, and not moving south yet. We had to come back to process moose quarters we left hanging in Randy's garage. We might go back if reports indicate they are moving down. Just have to see, it was cold Tuesday night/Wednesday morning (in the teens).

Evening all;
No chickens at Caribou, and no caribou at Chicken.
Never mind, just thinking too much!

Too bad on the hunt Rob, but they will migrate through there. Hope you can return to get one. Beautiful country!!!

Have you ever heard of a Wirehaired Pointing Griffon? Caught them on one of the hunting shows recently; think they were hunting somewhere in the mountains northern Arizona, it was snow flurrying on them. Made me think they might be a good dog for hunting Ptarmigan and grouse up here. Since my bird hunting buddy moved down there to Tyndall AFB, I'm itching to get a bird dog.

Yes seen some of them down here. One was a bird finding machine. The others not so much.. Just have to make sure the people that have the pups are into hunting also. The one I really liked came out of Minn.. I might be able to get the kennel name for you if you want it.

If you can, that'd be cool. I'll put it on file. Probably looking at next Spring, but Minnesota would work well, as we usually fly into and out of Minneapolis when we go back to Iowa to visit my wife's family. Thanks WBO! I appreciate it.

GRILLED BACON CORN ON THE COB
**DIRECTIONS**
Preheat an outdoor grill for high heat.
Sprinkle each ear of corn with Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper, and wrap each ear with 2 slices of bacon, covering the ear as completely as possible. (A big ear might need 3 pieces of bacon.) Wrap the ears in aluminum foil, twisting the ends tightly to seal.
Place the wrapped corn on the preheated grill, and grill on high heat until the corn is hot, about 10 minutes per side. Turn the heat to Low, and grill the corn until the bacon is cooked and the corn is tender, about 45 minutes.:drool :
Doing this right now. Hope it is as good as it looked. I used Old Bay for the seasoning.

If you are serious about getting a pup, a lot of the "good" breeders" have waiting lists. Might need to start looking now When I was looking for Zoie, most of the breeders' litters were long since spoken for. Good luck.

Afternoon all:
Stupid contraption locked me out again! It did it on Aug. 16, got it fixed and 3 wks. later did it again. I think this is the 4'th time it did that.
Time for a new one, so I told the guy that fixes it to build one. Should be done sometime next wk. Hopefully it will be back to without any problems for awhile.
