Not quite a Vet, yet. A few more months until the paperwork is completed and my back pay issues are resolved. I didn't make it to Viet Nam, either. Too young. Turned 18 in the summer of 1974.

I looked at those but my scotch pride (read: tight fistedness) got the better of me. Plus the propane guy told me horror stories about people running out of gas and the truck not being able to get there to refill them. Maybe if there was a natural gas line running down the street...

I know we have some PA/NJ folks on here. Anyone being affected by the Eric Frein manhunt? He's the suspect in the state trooper ambush.

I hear you Charlie. You're talking about the Kiddie Cruiser program that I was going to do. Unfortunately broke my arm earlier and only had the cast off a couple of weeks before the physical .... DENIED! Had to do the physical again a month later and ended up doing 4 years (68 - 72) instead of 3. Did ordinance during the all-expense-paid trip to Vietnam and the rest of the time as an Aviation Electricians Mate .... exited in 72 as an E-5.

Welcome Don and other new folks. I follow the thread but just don't post much because I'm just not as loquacious as most of these folks.

Sorry Glenn .... I've always been BIG on the English language .... and Latin from which 52+% of the English language was derived. May have something to do with being trained by nuns and priests during the formative years. Actually spent 2.5 years in a seminary learning Latin and thinking I could be a Catholic priest .... just didn't work out once I saw some girls walking outside the fence one day. With all the turmoil with priests these days I'm glad I made the decision to leave.

    OK folks, weigh in .......

    Tex
