Good morning all. Not much excitement over this way. About the only good news is that it is going to be cold the next week. Temps are supposed to run from lows in the single digits up to highs in the teens. This makes picking up after the dog much more pleasant.

I wanted to get out and run a few different types of ammo through the new 1911, but I will probably stick close to the wood stove. Not because of the cold, but due to having company coming, and it would be perceived as rude if I disappeared.

Life is life. We trade freedom for bondage and hope the side benefits are worth it.

BUPERS On Line finally shows me with 20 good years of Navy service. Getting ready to punch out after some great times in NAVSPECWAR. Any tips from you Vets that you think would help?

    1) Get all inclusive copies of your medical records.
    2) Go see your local Service Organization (VFW, DAV, etc) for guidance and representation submitting your Veterans Administration disability compensation claim. Here in Alaska, our VFW Service Officer is outstanding.

Congratulations, thank you for your service, and I wish you a very happy retirement. :)

First Thanks for the service & Hooyah.................. VA is always slow.. Endless paper work is BS . but just work through it.. I went in only one time back in the 80's for the agent orange screenings. . They said I was good to go but for some missing brain cells . Was that seal team 18 you were on, Also what kind of boats did you use ?

SEAL Team 18, correct. Special Boat Unit Eleven before that. Various boat units in between, including SBU 22. SBU's are now SBT's. I guess Team sounds cooler than Unit. I am a SWCC, boat guy. Boats were the Mini Armored Troop Carrier (MATC), Patrol Boat, light (PBL), Patrol Boat, Riverine (PBR) for a very very short time, Special Operations Craft, Riverine (SOC-R), 11 mtr RHIB.

Gonna try. After returning from Afghanistan last year my parent command, SEAL Team 18, lost my medical records. Thankfully, I had made copies up to 2009. So, there is a gap between 2009 and Oct of 2013. NMPS Norfolk has some electronic records taken before my MOB. As does Coast Guard Island, Alameda. So, working that issue. Thanks.

    Morning all:
Can't wait to see pics. of the pups in the field.

Only advice to Don is: watch out for all those maniacs on the highways, and
keep a copy of your DD-214 handy.

Off to hunt with the trusty flintlock! HA, can only hope the darn thing even fires if I see a deer!
