Mike, glad your grandson is on the mend. Getting ready to drag the snowblower out for the 4th time this week, This is getting tedious.

 I'm on temporary reprieve from being buried under serious work-related issues that my team running themselves ragged for the past week plus.
We're heading up your way in March. My wife made reservations yesterday at a B&B and the fellow told her they were at 70" so far for the season. Said he'd become very very familiar with his snow shovel!

Great news, Mike!!! He sounds like one tough cookie!!

Sitting here waiting for the plumber to show up and figure out what's up with our heating system - we've got a gas fired boiler that feeds our radiant heat and hot water. Got home last night - no hot water, every zone in the house calling for heat and the water temp at 70. Called the plumber and made an appointment for him to come by today. Woke up to 120 deg water pumping through the system, all rooms at temp and hot water. Now the temps have dropped again and the boiler seems to be trying o start but can't. Probably something simple...or not...but whatever it is it will be expensive, I'm sure. The system is 11 years old with no problems so far so I guess I can't complain.

Snow tomorrow - 3 to 8 inches. Is it spring, yet?

Hope it's something simple. Any chance of air in the system? :notsure: I haven't dealt with that type of system since England, but I seem to recall that happening in a place we rented over there.

Good afternoon folks .... finally catching up on the posts. Really feel for you guys up in the NE with the ice/snow/cold. Weather has been great here in Texas the past few days.

Mike, glad to hear your grandson pulled through OK. Reminds me of an episode my wife went through a few years ago when she had some arthroscopic surgery done on one of her knees. It was done in the morning and they sent her home that afternoon. She woke up the next morning dizzy and light-headed. When she collapsed on the living room floor I called for an ambulance and had her transported to the emergency room. They hooked her up to an IV and pumped a LOT of fluid into her .... she was seriously dehydrated. Apparently some drugs used for anesthesia can cause this. Is this what happened to your grandson? Seems like doctors/hospitals should offer advice on this before and after surgery.

    Tex

    Hi Mike
he couldn't keep anything down last night. That's what they were worried.
he's so small and thin anyway he couldn't afford to be like that.
Just got home from seeing him and you can't tell he was sick.
Running around like a wild guy like usual. just his eyes are swollen. that's it.
They did not send nausea meds home with them. They have them now but don't need it now.
So i think it's over and time to heal now.

What area are you going to be staying in ?????

Yea i thought i would be open water fishing April 1.
    I don't think that's going to happen.

Working issues just make the whole process so much worse.
hope a little down hill for you. :)

So another foot of snow coming over the next 3 days.
Decided the front door had to be opened before this one hit.
I have NEVER had to do this before. The wind would keep it pretty clear and we don't use the front door so as long as the door would open it was no biggie. This however was just to much.

So pic one shows me almost to the front steps.
Pic two shows the team getting a sauna and relaxing till the next job.
I can say as of now a plow would do me no good at my house.
Been many years since a winter like this. So in about an hour i'll go out and see how the stuff is doing and sweep out the garage and put it all away.
I'd show you the boat but i cant get around the corner to see it. lol

    Mike:
Glad to hear the grandson is back home for good and doing better.

I have a knotted up back muscle that is hurting bad. Started on Thursday and went to the doc's on Friday. Taking an anti inflammatory and muscle relaxers. Did not sleep well at all on Thursday. It was a little better last night. I need a good night sleep tonight. Back is still in pain so we will see. Started taking muscle relaxing pills at 2:00 today. I do not have to go out till tomorrow morning.

There is something wrong with out Verizon FIOS box. We are plugged into working AC but the box is running on battery power only. Lucky I have a second batter that is being charged till the current in use battery runs down. Verizon should be out tomorrow.

Wow Mike, that is a heap o' snow. We've had quite a few snow events but the biggest was maybe 7-8". The rest have been 4" or less, nuisance stuff. Everything is coated in ice and there is a layer of ice under the snow probably 1/2" thick or more, so the driveway is a real treat to walk on. It's gravel; I spread more gravel over the ice to give some traction, which works pretty well and doesn't make a mess come spring.

We're going to South Hiram, wherever that is. Wife's classmates run a maple sap/syrup operation there and they're having a pancake breakfast weekend. We'll be in the bottlewasher brigade.

I just joined TW a couple of weeks ago and today found this thread. Just wondering if a 67 year old join in or is this private?
I've retired to NC now, but lived in both Idaho and Montana for 33 years and know a little about snow and cold. Been there done that.
Looking at your pix and talking with some friends in Boston, I feel for you this year.

A back is your center. Anything you do comes from that. I hope she calms down for YA.

Sounds like the box is is not sensing ac input.

    Maine Maple Sunday.
I go to a friends place every year in Sebago Lake.
From there about 20 miles east to Hiram.
If that's the venue then we are going to be real close.
To go there or hiram is only a 20 min difference from my house.
You will love it. Maybe a stop by and say hi since ill be out and about if your so inclined.
