Yeah... once my divorce goes through and my TDI is fixed up, a bike is on order.

I guess I need to decide what bike to get.... I love my crotch rockets, but maybe it's time for a cruiser... Harley has been calling my name for awhile :)

I think I am going the cruiser route myself, but I am looking at the Boulevard M50 in Black (to match my Tacoma and my Jetta)...

Thanks. Now if I could only pull $8K out of thin air...

($2000 will get my head rebuilt, turbo rebuilt, new TB, new water pump, new intercooler, and a paint job on my Jetta.)

(The other $6000 is to buy a 08' M50 from a friend of mine that works for a wholesaler.)

    I want one of these.

First I need to get my Class M license, then save about $9500 for the bike and riding gear.

Lose the weight, keep the bike, and feel better about yourself for completing at least one of your dreams.

I regretted selling my Jetta TDI for months!!! When I found out that my bestfriend had broken the head on it (didn't install the timing belt properly), I bought it back in a heartbeat. Even though it isn't running, I am so glad that I have it back. Now I am going to restore it to be better than it ever was!!!

Take the local rider safety class. you won't regret it. It teaches you quite a bit, and you get to meet other local riders. I plan on taking one again as a refresher since I haven't ridden in 3 years (married 3 years - relation?) and to meet people that ride in the area.

The class I took in Colorado was from a police officer that became my friend. She taught me how to lay a bike over in accident and ride it through a skid. She also taught me how to slide in my bike gear without getting a scratch.

...now as long as I don't ever have to use any of that stuff.

I like it because it is clean smooth and refined for long distance travel yet easy enough to handle in tight downtown situations. Plus it has EFI and shaft drive - effortless yet fun all at the same time. :D

Yeah, I know. It's even free for PA residents, and if you pass it you automatically get your Class M. But since I'm nowhere near being able to afford a bike and gear (I'm in college) I don't really see the need for getting it. I'd rather get it when I'm financially able to ride.

Good point! Of course, I just bought a $600 Suzuki GS500 and rode it around campus.

Hell, if PA lets you take the class for free - do it! Better to know and not need to know than need to know and lack the knowledge. ;)

Yeah I may just take it so I can get my Class M now and take it again or take the advanced class when I'm ready to get a bike!
