Coyote hunting.....

    4.10 gears, sliders, and lots of buttons.

    The Sierra Club and the U. S. Forest Service were presenting an alternative to the Wyoming ranchers for controlling the coyote population. It seems that after years of the ranchers using the tried and true method of shooting or trapping the predators, the Sierra Club had a "more humane" solution to this issue. What they were proposing was for the animals to be captured alive. The males would then be castrated and let loose again. This was ACTUALLY proposed by the Sierra Club and by the U. S. Forest Service.



    All of the ranchers thought about this amazing idea for a couple of minutes. Finally an old fellow wearing a big cowboy hat in the back of the conference room stood up, tipped his hat back and said, "Son, I don't think you understand our problem here. These coyotes ain't fuckin our sheep; they're eatin' 'em!"



    The meeting never really got back to order.

    The old fellow in the big cowboy hat got a standing ovation​

    HAHAHA that's hilarious! I have hunted in Montana a couple times on a rancher's land and have talked to a few people out there, and it's a huge problem, between the coyotes and the wolves. The rancher I know said that, during calving season, a pack of wolves will kill 100 calves in one night, and not even eat them. Just kill them and leave them laying. The coyotes aren't as bad, but they're still a big problem

    I use to hunt Coyote's "back in the day" in Coachella Valley. Night Spotting with 30-06, 270's. Calling them in with rabbits calls was the best, or driving and spotting them. That was back in my 20's, good times. Wow, times have changed, nobody would get away with that now, there.:eek:

    x3 thats funny this humane stuff is rediculous, if the species is over populated it needs to be controlled. we had coyotes killing our goats one year, at first they ate the goat (we found the head and leg) then it turned into killing for sport (we found them dismembered in the field) thats what prompted me to get my remington .243 castrating isnt going to stop them from killing only reproducing. i would have died laughing if i was there and a man said that.

    true but if theres a country person that knows their stuff, they could prove that it only lowers the drive of aggression and need to be territorial, it wont do anything for the instinct to hunt and feed...unless you give them all gastric bypass surgeries...then maybe.

    Sorry, I think you missed my hint of sarcasm :)

    I used to have some respect for the Sierra Club up until I realized it's their way or the highway. There is no compromise with them. The SC have a bunch of smart people to argue against whatever and will bring mounds of "research" to prove their point. Organizations like BLM and Forest Service are hog tied by this bullshit.

    And, they use government programs like the Equal Access to Justice Act to collect millions in addition to any judgement they receive too. EAJA allows groups, like the Sierra Club, to receive compensation for attorney fees.
