Doing good, starting a new job in a week, been out of work for 3 years now. Going to be a rough adjustment. New hours are going to be 4pm to 2:30 am, mon.-thurs.

 

i've been keeping track of your adventures with that. Didn't want to say anything and jinx ya. i have a hard time adjusting every morning when i go in
.
i wish you well with a smooth transition. If your lucky you will get lunch and then without anyone bothering you..

I hate working longer days than 8 hours, but those three day weekends sure are nice

 

That won't be an option for me if that storm hits next week.
Last year, we had two major storms in that many months. 14-18 hour days putting stuff back up.I'm definitely getting too old for that!

 

I hear it will be a heck of a storm, Sandy from the east and a storm from the west...yikes!

 

Well, put the boat in the storage garage tonight. Sad Day . The Tacoma has it's indoor parking spot again. Will have to check the forecast Sunday to see if i need to get everything into the shed. Last year it was a 6" snow storm. This year a hurricane. Last week an earthquake. I wonder whats next?

Hey everyone.
Thank you for your concern Susan and Andy.
Lucked out big time.
Lost power for 12 hours.
Had a few trees down in the back yard. One cradled my plow truck.
Had my little gen going so no damage to my fridge or furnace.
No damage to the house.
Cut trees for about an hour and cleaned up off and on. Down along the coast a few miles from me had some big erosion and downed trees.
I feel fortunate. I've seen lots of pictures of the devistation further south.
Hope the North East Coast doesn't see anything like this again for a long time.

 

Did my final mow yesterday. Leaves taken care of. Power washed all the equipment. Plow on the truck and ready to go. Won't put the bike away until it's hopeless lol. Going to be a long tuff winter.

Glad you are OK Mike, hope everyone out there gets their life back together before the real cold weather sets in.

 

I did the final cut yesterday and broke the mower deck. Had to finish up with the push mower. Now I need to rebuild the deck over the winter. That's what I get for buying 20 year old used equipment, but the price was right, still ahead of the game.

 

My deck has a little quirk now. It won't disengage without it being at idle and hi cut. It's the pivot bar on the release. I'll have to make a new one next spring.
My last project is a restoration of a 60 year old snow sled for my grandson.
Going to start that this weekend.
