If there are no electrons in a vacuum, how does and electron microscope work?

You can use a focused beam of electrons to see and electron?

How are satellites powered ? Is there no electrons in that equation in space .

And no , I'm not being sarcastic . Real question .

Just looked it up and apparently you can not see an electron. They seem to be too small. But we can use them. An electron microscope uses electrons to take very advanced images of small objects.

Electrons do flow in a vacuum, for example vacuum tube, or vacuum variable capacitor. Neither of which would function without the flow of electrons.

Without oxygen there is no medium to create an ionized path for the flow of electrons, therefor heating the medium(such as oxygen) and creating a visible arc.

Given a high enough potential (volts) the electrons still travel through the vacuum to the conductor that is short electrons.

I guess one could say the flow is just more evenly dispersed in the vacuum.

Satellites have power from within their bodies. There is not necessarily a vacuum in the satellite. It is like taking a camera into water. Without a proper case it will be ruined. Same thing just in space.

Well , I realize there is not just a really long extension cord hanging down from them , but I meant that the solar panels need to excite electrons in order to work do they not ? And the entire system exists in a vacuum , no ?

Vacuum chamber: SEMs require a vacuum to operate. Without a vacuum, the electron beam generated by the electron gun would encounter constant interference from air particles in the atmosphere. Not only would these particles block the path of the electron beam, they would also be knocked out of the air and onto the specimen, which would distort the surface of the specimen.

    This is from your link.

That is why I used the theory of gravitation as an example. You don't believe in gravity because it's a 'theory'?

As for defining god, what's yours? Sophisticated theologians say 'god is beyond definition.' Paul Tillich said 'god is not a being, he is the very ground of being.'

Science does not bother with trying to define things that do not exist. Even Christian theologians agree. They would say that 'god' is beyond existence... or in Tillich's words, 'the very ground of being.' Those Christian theologians I refer to have said that to say 'god exists' is atheistic, since he is beyond such lowly definitions.

This is beyond science, it is beyond rationality. It is beyond sanity. :) It is superstition, handed down by tradition to satisfy the less educated and comfort the weary

The photovoltaic cell converts the light energy into electrical energy via the silicon in the cell.

Solar panels work by being bombarded with photons. Its this that creates the flow of electrons in the materials of the solar panel.
