    Why do mirrors flip things horizontally but not vertically?

    There has to be an obvious answer but danged if I can come up with it.

    because when they get hit its usually in the horizontal.

    Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
    i think it has to do partially w/ the fact that mirrors are flat and just reflect whats coming onto them as that flat surface. if the mirror was convex or concave, then it was distort the vertical as well....at least thats what i think
