I'm not sure if there is another thread about this, but was wondering how everyone has proposed to their spouse. I've been getting a lot of pressure to propose lately. Actually I have till October 15th. I actually want to propose, just keep putting it off.

I've been with my girlfriend for 3.5 years and we have an 11 month old daughter, hence the pressure. She said I have till my daughter is 1 to propose otherwise she is moving out. She isn't going to move out, but I will get hell from her and her family.

I have an idea how I want to propose, but putting it together is a little difficult with work and my daughter. I'm a simple person and just want to have a picnic somewhere with a nice view and pop the question.

Share your story if you like and what you would have done different (if anything).

No kids here but also under a very similar pressure. I was thinking about going up in a hot air balloon and asking up there but haven't really put it all together yet.

Got down on one knee and said baby...............the love of my life....................everything I've always wanted....................the one I was meant to be with...................is sitting down at the Toyota dealer, so what do you say. :D

Seriously though, went on a weekend trip to the mountains in a cabin with a romantic weekend and popped the question in front of the fire on a cold fall evening.

Don't do it because you are pressured, only if you KNOW it's want you want. Good luck!

I'm not pressured anymore. I really want to now. I was before and it really annoyed me when she would constantly bring it up, but it feels right now. If I can get my ass together and plan an afternoon, I might do it this weekend. She knows its coming, so surprising her isn't a top priority.

If you can take her back to somewhere nice you used to go when you first started dating, or just somewhere damn beautiful and peaceful. Hell, you're in Santa Cruz. Drive up PCT to a beach near Pigeon Point and pop the question, then go to a bar & grill somewhere along the way for a dinner and drink and watch the sun set...or fog come in. Check out Google Earth for spots.

I proposed at night under the St. Louis Arch while riding in a horse drawn carriage. Got down on one knee and popped the question.

We had an interesting first date...
Went to an outdoor mall and walked around for awhile then sat on a bench and talked for hours.

Got the ring 4 years later and went to dinner close by the mall with friends, went for a walk, found the bench and our friends said they wanted to take pics of us...
I told her to close her eyes because I was going to do a goofy pose behind her...dropped on one knee and laid that shit on the table. :p

Best of luck to you OP. However you do it, I am sure she will love it

I actually proposed just last week. We were at Aruba and went on a sunset dinner cruise on a sailboat. The ring was brought out with the desert during a beautiful sunset. I didn't get down on one knee because space was limited, but it turned out great.

There was a place back in Spooner I used to camp at sometimes. Had a creek that filled a wetlands. Real peaceful place, beautiful sunrises. Took her there when I proposed. Didn't make her get up for the sunrise. Lol.

Take her to Vegas and propose there. Then you can tell say 'hell, we're here anyways, and I love you so much- why dont we get married right now'

    Save yourself a fortune ;)

I did it after I got off work one night, usually takes me 25 minutes to get home. But I stopped at the store and grabbed every wedding and bridal magazine they had. When I came home she was mad cause we were almost late to go to a dinner. I handed her the magazines, she looked at them then I got down on one knee. While she was still looking at the magazines she said " this isn't funny"(she had been talking about getting married for a while, but I wanted it to be right for both of us) Then she looked down at me and saw the ring then she knew it was real. :D I think she was on the phone all night.....and right now shes in New York city buying her dress...
