    Just wrote the most glowing recommendation of a random jack in the box employee I met in the states and forwarded it to Jack in the box corporate.

    They'll probably give him a promotion and a fighter jet for it.

    Islay, eh? How old? 12? Did you try any non-Islays?

    My favorite Islay is Lagavulin 16. Jeanne got me a very nice Highland 21 called Old Pulteney. Totally different character, smoother (as expected), but also sweeter (bourbon and sherry cask aged) and not the peaty character of the Isalys, of course.

    You can get Lagavulin at Costco on the mainland for about $55 on sale, about $65 not on sale, and about $20 more than that elsewhere. I consider it the adult cheese of whiskys. Like a really stanky stilton or gorgonzola.

    Do you have Trader Joe's? You can get some good deal there too.

    How about bourbons? Try Woodfords Reserve for a sipper. Basil Hayden is very nice too.
