For 2 people what is a good amount to spend per month on food?

 

Depends on what you enjoy eating and where you shop?

 

Enough that you don't feel hungry all the time

It all depends what you're looking at eating. Fast food adds up very quickly, and is a less healthy option costing roughyl 5-700/mo. On the flip side you can go for super cheap with ramen and pb&j and it will probably cost you 50-60 bucks a month. If you want to eat decent with the ocasional eating out (once a week or so) you're looking at 350-500/mo.

 

We probably spend $300-$400 and month for the two of us...and that with buying in bulk at Sam's and eating far more chicken then steak.

Now cheap is pinto beans, rice and corn tortillas, good balanced protein, fairly low on fat and complex starches.

My wife and I spend around 150-175 per month. We eat out usually once or twice a week (this is not included in the monthly figure. Also, we take pb&j for lunch everyday. Mainly cause it's quick, cheap and never goes bad.

 

Wife and I spend 300 or so-We eat out alot tho due to work....and we have a little mouth in the mix too....

 

man.... My wife and I and our two young sons spend well over $1000 / month on food. this does include eating out a bit.

I need to trim back on the food spending.

 

We spend way over $1000 per month for a family of four, but we eat healthy.
For two people eating good $500 - $600 should do.

 

You two must be as thin as twigs. I spend probably $100 a month just on my lunches for work but I also buy Kashi or some sort of microwave healthy dish.

 

My wife and I spend around 200-300 a month but that does not include the average of 2 times a week we eat dinner out and I also travel for work so I am not home an average of 10 days per month. I would say we eat fairly healthy, and my wife is a sale shopper and coupon user.

 

Between 6 & 800 a month for two, does not count eating out. We eat healthy & take our lunch to work due to work schedule & type of job environment. We buy non-perishables in bulk.

 

what's your scenario OP. married? you and a roommate? you and the gf?

i know for me last year with one roommate it was like maybe $200-$250 lol. pork chops are cheap!

now for my folks living at home with no more kids in the house, probably $300ish. mom cooks a lot, they rarely go out to eat, and eat pretty healthy.
