    hit the reset button.

First, think like a middle schooler. Then, any name you think you like, come up with the most vicious, degrading way you can ridicule it, and then imagine a bully holding you down and repeating it fifty time in your face. While laughing at you. Then ask if that is what you want for your son.

That said, may I suggest Percival or Francis.

If y'all wanna talk about bad family names, had my parents kept the name going, I would have been Wilbur Charles Hensel 4th. (they all go by Bill tho)

    I chose start over.

For the sanity and safety of your future unborn; please us this formula:

    <normal human first name> <Dudley> <last name>

with all due respect to your dog. I've lost 2 since 2007, one to cancer(9), one to house fire(1.5). don't name your kid after a dog, its disrespectful to the kid and dog.

How 'bout Shane DUDEly? Kinda rolls off the tongue? Hard to tease a kid with that name. When me and my son's mom were trying to pick a name, my first name had to be his middle name and beyond that I wanted to make sure he couldn't be teased with his name.

Congrats! I knew a guy named Dudley and a guy named Dane while I was in the Army. Both were cool dudes. I never heard of anybody giving Dudley any flack about his name.

P.S. Michael is not a "power name." SNAKE! Now there is a power name! :D

If you name him Dudley everybody will call him Dudley DoRight from the cartoon. His nickname will be Dud, do you really want that? Go with Dane as the first name.

    Congratulations!!

Tacoma Dudley sounds like a powerfull name to me. jk.

I agree with others that Dudley might become "Dud" and that lends itself to mockery.
Dane Dudley is just fine and they can't do much bad with Dane (Other than maybe "Danny-Boy" or something, but it should not be too bad. I have a hard time with my name being a nickname taken from my middle name, so it is always confusing when some (banks etc. official business) use my first name and others use my nickname but can't pronounce it right etc.... a real pain, so please spare your child that. Use a first name that will be used just as it is - no abbreviated version of it.

Whatever the name is, enjoy the boy and spend as much time with him as you can. They grow up fast.
