need advice quick on selling car

My girlfriend wants me to sell her civic and she still owes about 3k on it, I want to sell it for her. My question is how do I get the title for the car if she still owes on it. Im confused, Its an 01 civic and she is asking 4 for it and she owes 3k on it. If someone buys it how do I guarrantee them the title. Need help fast because have had tons of offers

Wow, stumped me. I've owned probably 20 vehicles but never had to do this.

Here's some good info (there's this AWESOME thing called Google :P):

It looks like you can do it at the bank that holds the lien, or use an escrow service. Talk to your bank for some advice.

i bought my truck for 9k and the guy still owed 4k. i had to go to his bank with him and they did it all. basically i gave them the 9k. they kept thee 4 and gave him 5. they signed it over form the bank to me
