The Dart badge should never be on a 4cyl anything...

Considering for most of the original Dodge Darts lifespan the stardard engine was a 170 ci 2.8L slant six, I see nothing wrong with a I4.

It's kinda like the Charger, its not that its a bad car... it's just not a Charger, and this is NOT a Dart. Its a neon with a new body and a Dart badge slapped on in order to bring in a few more fan boy sales.

Perhaps Dodge thinks if they made it like the old Dart it might detract sales from the challenger :notsure:

What I pictured was what 95% of Darts looked like, hardly the untarnished name that you are pretending is held high by the Mopar faithful.

I think it looks good. Should be very competitive in the segment. Not sure why everyone is getting bent out of shape about the name. As mentioned, the Dart was originally just a small comuter car with anemic engines that later spawned some higher performance stuff. That's all that people remember in these situations and not what the car really was at the core. Frankly calling it a Neon would be a terrible move since even though they sold lots of them it was a garbage car. Why use a nameplate from a shit car on a new vehicle that actually has a good chance in doing well in a segment that's very competitive these days.

Besides, it's most likely going to spawn an SRT variant close to 300hp. Sure, FWD, but should still be a fun car.

Looks like the first good small car dodge has made in a long long time... if ever. Makes sense I guess as it's actually an alfa.

I don't understand what the hype is bringing back the old car names? I think it takes away from the originals.
Hey Dodge, think of something new!
Like Ruger said...Neon with a new name

Alright, what I'm really interested in is this. All of you who think the new dodge dart is stupid, why? Do you not realize that no cars made today are at all like the ones made in the 50's and 60's?

I think most cars today are better than the 50's and 60's. Nowadays your getting twice as much horsepower from engines half the size. Hell even the new 6 banger Camaros and Mustangs are getting a little over 300 hp.

Some of the syling was better back in the day, and nothing is as good as the first, but overall im happy with detroit.

A friend of mine`s 1st car back in high school was a Dart

He had some Jensen 6x9s in the rear deck, he thought he a sweet setup LOL

I still pick at him today about that old Dart :D
