So, I'm a service asst manager at a Hyundai store. Yesterday a woman comes in with a rear wiper sprayer that is shooting off her car onto cars behind her and not cleaning her rear window. So, my advisor sits in the drivers seat and i stand there watching it spray all over the place. I tell her to stop for a moment and then I go and inspect the nozzle. I'm sure you can guess what happened next.... My advisor wasn't looking in the rear view mirror and just decided to try spraying again. So, I'm about 2 inches away from the nozzle and now I'm being sprayed in my eyes, nose, and mouth. I step back gagging and my eyes are burning and this customer starts to laugh hysterically. I go inside to use the eye rinse machine and she says to the girl "I'm GLAD that happened to him". Now, I've never seen this customer before... So, we get the car out back and then as I'm washing up and putting eye drops in, my advisor tells me she was told this by the customer. So, we end up finding her third brake lamp which has the nozzle inside, has a crack in it and the fluid was shooting out of it. So, it's legitimately broken, but I decide to warranty it anyhow. So, when it's all done, I get the customer, have her sign the paperwork, and walk her outside. I told her I have two things to say, one being the part that was busted was replaced for free under warranty- a $250 part, and that secondly when I was coughing up washer fluid she stated she was happy about it. I found that spiteful, hurtful, disrespectful and inappropriate and I didn't appreciate it. I then handed her the keys and walked away.
She started screaming that if she ever sees me in public she will "stab me in the fucking neck because she's that kind of crazy puerto rican c#nt and I better fucking watch out!"
Her words... So, ever wonder why a service guy can be kind've a dick? I do all I can for my customers- been there 10 years, and this is the shit I have to put up with.
Today, I'm giving a guy that's faithful to my dealership a $150 check because we were late in shuttling him back to us for his car. He's a basketball ref and missed the beginning of a game he was to referee. He lost $75 for the game and pays out $75 for not being there.
I'm not perfect, neither is my staff. But we try. Customers run the gambit and when times are tougher they can get nuttier than squirrel shit.
