I snapped a picture of this sign in North Dakota (free shower with a $50 purchase). I saw it and had to turn around and get a picture (I really don't want to spend $50 but damn I stink!):

These are all over the Upper Mid-West, Minnesota, Michigan ect...pump-n-munch.jpg

Back home there was Chinese Rest called the Big Wong....Can't find my picture but you get the idea.

    BigWongRestaurant.jpg

And free shower with $50.00 purchase is for a truck stop/travel center. It's a common practice. Showers cost about $10.00 but if you spend a certain amount of money on fuel and/or other things you'll get a free one. So it's not actually free but it sure does look nice on the sign.

These are in Oklahoma too. Try explaining that one to your thirteen year old. This pic is from the internet, but I thought it was worth putting up.

Also saw a convience store named "Harmony Trip". This store must have opened in the late 60's or 70's.

I remember seeing a shop in Santee CA that was called Santee Auto Repair but it had a drawing of a Cesna airplane on it above the name. It wasn't really close to the local airport either.

This Thai-Chinese cuisine restaurant used to be nearby where I live. I don't remember seeing the actual place because it had closed down a while back (go figure...), but they had the sign up for the longest time. I couldn't help but laugh after every time I drove by it. Here are some pics I found on the internet:
