1.6 billion dollars is enough to outright BUY 10,666 $150,000 dollar homes.

Or enough to get the banks off the backs of about 15,000 homeowners facing foreclosure, for a year (at $1000 dollar a month mortgage payments).

Or enough to pay unemployment at 300 bucks a week for 102,564 people to eat for a year.

    Our tax money at work.

Just be careful not to look at this and say, "How dare those executives get that money!" What we should be saying is, "Congress, why the hell did you give any bailout money to ANYONE when your constituents overwhelmingly opposed it?"

Remember, these banks have a contract with the executives that states what their compensation will be. If they honor those contract terms in the face of a challenging financial situation, the shareholders should be demanding that the board of directors explain why they negotiated such a contract without safeguards for the bank, then hold them (board members) accountable.

Just beware of the "politics of envy"...

Now, let's go put a whole shitload of shoes up the butts of people in Congress! Who's bringing the beer? :D

i dont mind people getting rich, i dont get jealous of that. but when the government gives them my money to do it then i have a problem with it. if things keep up this way i wonder how long it will be until there is some type of revolution or revolt? the middle class wont sit back and support the rest of the nation forever. we have to support the lazy poor folks, now we have to support the greedy rich folks.... i'm bout to grab a pitchfork...

with unemployment on the rise, the nation split down the middle, elected officials ignoring the masses that elected them, fear and paranoia created by outside nations, more and more money being handed out to poor and rich alike but none to the middle class, the general collapse of our infrastructure, sabotage by the media (both from the left AND right), war mongering, more fear and paranoia created by an increasingly aggressive and growing government, and that government constantly increasing it's control over its citizens, i really do see something nasty on the horizon. just like when you look out and see a nasty black storm cloud and all you can do is hope it just harmlessly passes us by. but if you look back in history things are starting to line up for some kind of action. i'm not going as far as to say there will be an all out revolt but something bad is on its way in America....

I completely agree. I find it hard to fathom that we'd have another civil war, but this, on many levels, is what the Civil War was about. The federal government is getting way too big and the states/citizens are losing their rights left and right.

yup, and with the greed and corruption in politics i dont see things changing anytime soon. i'm like you, i dont see a civil war happening but i see something happening, i just can't predict what that something might be.

this is not a joking matter, talking about going and putting shoes up their ass with beer is fucking annoying, we really need to do something... Not just sit here and joke about it with our cocks in our palms...

These guys are out of control, and our government is obviously not one for the people seeing as how 99% of america is not on board for this bullshit.

Time to start a revolution and fuck this world all up

I wrote each of my congressional delegation, each responded with the reasons why it was needed. What a load of crap. I'm still writing because each and every one of us is a voice. Just burns me as Longhorn says but it keeps the fire in me to keep voicing my opinion to those lameasses and vote accordingly next election.

i didn't mention getting boozed up and doing anything. All i'm saying is that eventually something will happen to "break the camels back" and when that happens i'll be curious to see what the result will be. Will it be riots? Marching on the capitol? militant groups blowing stuff up? Things in America are gettin so tense you can cut it with a knife. The problem is organization and finding people with the WILL to do something. there are more than enough people who are fed up but how many are willing to do something about it? the majority of america is outraged but it doesn't matter how many people are pissed, what matters is how many are willing to do something. Another issue is organization. the revolutionary war worked because all the colonies worked together. do you know of any organized group where disgruntled citizens can join up and do something? i sure dont. All i'm sayin is a storm's a brewin. if that storm is focused it could make a difference, if it's just random acts of violence, and vandalism, and a few hundred people holding picket signs nothing will change. i'm not calling for a revolt i'm just commenting on the way things are going and whats going to happen

my post wasnt really directed at you.. but in response to your latest, I am calling for a revolt, and no there isnt anywhere to join up, and i have no idea where to go to join up... Civil war is imminent.

it will take quite an event to set things off. police or military will have to kill some 'civies before the outrage sets in to the majority of the people. can't rely on the media for info, cell phones and land lines will be used to intercept message traffic from organizers, and our beloved forums will probably be offline. print media (homemade) will be the only way to share information if the govt. brings down the hammer. anyone ever read "Common Sense"? if not, i invite you to check it out...it's the book that started this country.

a civil war is certainly a possibility but i dont think it will be allowed to go that far. you also have to think about the consequences. lets say a few local militias get together and attack a local FBI building. what happens when the militia is put down? the perfect "reason" the government needs to ban guns on a whole or put the nation on a curfew. as much as i like the idea of a violent solution i doubt it would be the most effective in the long run. a violent uprising would be put down and only further the governments argument for further expansion. like i said, i dont know what the solution is but violence is counterproductive (i cant believe i'm saying that) but you have have to think about the after affects.

also, Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand is a great commentary on capitalism being choked out by greedy bureaucrats and socialism. its a hard long boring read but its worth it. i wanna say it's something along the lines of 5000 pages and is so dry its not even funny

capitalism is ugly. eventually...everything will be owned by the few who have been able to capitalize the most often. the Uber-corporations that exist today were born out of capitalism.

only thing i can think to do to get at the govt. non-violently is to stop doing the blue collar work...but then they'll just get mexiCANs.

the people would have to band together to put down the govt. good luck with that though...everyone's sleeping.

true. thats why we need to form something before its too late..once they take away our communication we are S.O.L.

Everybody is sleeping and it is a shame.. because one day its all going to come crumbling down and we'll all just be fucked. I wish i had an answer

no one thinks its serious enough to give up anything, so once it becomes an issue, it will be way too late, I just hope my toyota is built by then and i can stumble accross a group of people to build a coalition from to take back what is ours.
