    Shows are different.

Man vs Wild is Bear Grylls showing you what to do when you're fucked.

Survivorman is Les taping himself doing stuff.

They are two totally different shows...
Man Vs. Wild shows you what to do when you HAVE to... (like naked push-ups in the snow)
Survivor man shows you how to endure survival

Bear puts himself in situations where he has to put survival skills to the test. He's like "Heres a hole in a frozen lake. What you have to do if you fall in is get the hell out asap, roll around in the snow, take your wet clothes off and get something else on."

Then he jumps into a frozen lake.

Les is just like "hey look there's a hole, im going to walk around it."

If you want to know what survival looks like, watch Survivor Man. If you want tips on how to survive, watch Man vs Wild. That's what it boils down to.

Didn't mean to sound sarcastic. I really do think its hilarious, and saw the same video months ago. Laughed just as hard this time as the first time. Like a couple others said, the shows are totally different from each other so you cant even really compare the two.

Bear Grylls has been through British SAS training, to the top of everest, survived multiple vertebrae fractures, and a boat trip up in the Artic. Both are skilled survialists but as far as accomplishments of physical effort and mental fortitude Bear is the man. As far as their shows Les Stroud is in a more precarious situation but both focus on learning and education. If your into outdoor activities watch and learn from both, it may be valuable one day.

Side thought does either drive a Taco???

    BUILT, not bought...
I dont like the guy with the European accent.

I like the other guy. He seems like the kind of guy who'd drive a Taco, and you could go over to he house and put your feet on his coffee table and have a beer with. A mans man.

The guy with the accent seems like he'd be a pompus ass. Seems like he'd be nervous if you walked into his house with your shoes on.

but I could be wrong.

EDIT- I enjoy watching both shows. Both are quality entertainment, and both beat the hell out of watching Fresh Prince of BellAire reruns, or Pokemon.

(DISCLAIMER; I DO NOT watch and CANNOT approve of watching either Fresh Prince of Bellaire, or Pokemon)

Do we really know anything about Les Stroud? I mean, Bear Grills is reported to be ex SAS, and whatever, but since there is a little less known about Les, He could be a pretty bad ass dude.

Les is some mysterious guy that goes out in the woods.

Exactly Les is a crazy mountain man from canada. Ever since it came out about Bear doing some fake stuff on his show I haven't watch it.

bear put HIS survival skills to the test. It s awesome that he can jump into ice cold lakes and then pull himself out or any other of the cool stuff he does. He is in top shape and has a great backround for suvival. But my fat ass aint jumpin in to a lake or climbing an 80 foot sheer rock face. I like les with don't do that just go around it type attitude. Work smarter not Harder that just me though.

Like mentioned before, Bear is sourounded by other people, and Im sure some of them are trained EMTs or the like, so if there is a problem, he can be saved quickly. Les doesnt have the luxury of haveing medics or others nearby to help him. For some reason I picture if Bear was left by himself, much like Les, Much of the video would be of him crying.

Bear is trained to survive by the military. Les Stroud is Canadian, survival is part of day to day life in this barren country, we learn to build igloos when were young so as to survive the harsh winters. I would almost guarantee Les has a satillite phone hidden somewhere in those camera bags. He has a wife and kids at home, no way he's going to die and leave them.
