In this world, you can not please everybody. I'm same way as you until I finally realized I was able to survive my entire life without having those kind of people. You did try to be nice but if they won't do their part, just move on and focus yourself outside his business. You'll do fine... I'm not white BTW.

Well, like they say, you can pick your friends, pick your nose, but you can't pick your neighbors.

Dude is sensitive and has an axe to grind. He's decided to make a statement with disregard to the friendship. There's a lot of shit in this world that "ain't right" - no doubt - there's so much segregation beyond color, but that doesn't make for good news so no one really pays it any attention. All you can do is knock on his door and ask what's up. Let him talk yell rant etc and get it out. You don't need a response or an answer for him. Just leave it at that. At least you'll know where he stands. He'll know where you stand because you took the time to bother coming over. There's nothing you can do otherwise. He has to decide to move on himself.

This is exactly why I moved from a subdivision with lemonade-stand-sized lots out to acreage. I can't even see a single neighbor. It's not that I hate people, but I'm around people on the interstate for all 55 minutes of my daily work commute. I work around people all day long. I commute back with the same crowd of people that won't get off their cell phones and drive incesantly in the left lane doing 2 under the speed limit. By the end of the day, I'm tired of being around people.

It's nice to walk out in my backyard in my underwear, take a piss, shoot the pistol, and mess around in the garden.

I have nothing for people that want to get all butt hurt over shit like that. I have quite a few friends that are black and not once has one of them got offended if I said what's up brotha? I say that to all my friends black, white or hispanic, whatever. If someone did that to me and I explained like you did and they still don't get it, hell with em. I got better shit in life to do than worry about you being butt hurt over something that was innocently said. He needs to grown the hell up and be an adult and learn everyone isn't out to offend you or get you. Personally I wouldn't worry about him, wouldn't say a damn word to him. I'm sure it won't be the first time he's alienated himself from his neighbors.

The butt hurt falls on his shoulders, it's not your responsibility to console his feelings. Those days are long forgotten, if he feels the need to hold onto them it's his choice, you aren't obligated to comply. Live your life and enjoy, you're not here to satisfy strangers.

I would ask him.... "can we talk"...... explain what is going on, don't know if an apology is in order but if he doesn't lighten up (no pun intended) that is his problem. I saw a couple of black guys at walmart calling each other "******" and laughing it up. If I called one of them that then they probably would have beat me up. To me that mentality is racist.

My God, what a hypersensitive sissy boy. Isn't the union for electricians ref'd to as a bruthahood? Why couldn't it be taken that way. So tired of people like that perpetuating what they want people to stop acting like. Pitiful nonsense. Let him be the butthurt self-contradicting titty baby he wants to be and just move on. I refer to several different groups of people like friends, neighbors, TW members, surfers, mt bikers, coworkers, etc as my bruthas even tho we may not be blood related or same race. People need to be over theirselves, there is one race of people - human. Other than that, race means go real fast and get somewhere first. Fuck all the other bullshit associated with that word.

Some people have a chip on their shoulder and are just waiting for a reason to act "stupid". Better you found out now than later. Him expecting you to appologize for something your boss said, that he misinterpretted is just dumb. Move on.
