I was just giving an idea for a quick fix. The educational system is broken nearly as badly as the judicial system. Every student is guided toward higher education with no regard toward mental or financial ability to succeed at that level. College has been so thoroughly dumbed down and has become nothing more than a degree factory. Trades are taught to inmates with a higher frequency than non criminals. My argument is large but a few key points are people not paying back student loans should be stripped of their degree, trade schools or educational tracks based upon ability should extend to every student not just potential ivy grads, and every student does not deserve higher education based upon a pulse.

It's simple. The BUSINESS of private college should pay taxes just like any other PRIVATE business in America should. Regardless of whether you might have to pay more as a customer. why is that blasphemy?

1/2 of Philadelphia is owned and operated by colleges. The other 1/4 by people below the poverty line.

Who even pays taxes? Maybe that's why the sales tax is 8% and the local economy is in the shitter.

    neglect, mostly.
i agree with everything chris has posted to the letter. . . and OP, in your recent "who does and doesn't pay taxes threadmaking-athon" im surprised in this one you didn't even bother to bring up the massive amount of tax payer subsidization given to public universities. that probably outweighs the unpaid taxes, AND it would give you something else to complain about.

might as well feed him, the thread is already silly

2 things need to happen to bring college back to where it was standard wise. 1 remove to ability to major in subjects like ancient Roman poetry. 2 the fed needs to get out of giving out loans and make it legal for REAL banks to give college loans again. Sure this will make it harder for some to get degrees, but it will make the system competitive again both education and financially. The problem is there are no politicians with the balls to even propose this.
