Oh , well you see we sign on when we are born , so unless you are getting additional private insurance that wouldn't come up

 

Pre-existing conditions are symptoms or illnesses real or fake that allowed insurance companies to deny people health insurance up until today. So for instance, mine was possible lung nodules/polyps. 1% of people with these has a 1% chance of getting cancer so that made me too high of a risk for insurance companies to insure me. Diabetes is another.

I'd be happy paying in $60 a month lol. Although I won't complain about $47 out of each bi-weekly paycheck, could be worse. When I was on unemployment a few years ago I was paying $180 a month to keep some pretty bare bones insurance.

 

SUCK, at least dental doesn cost that much, I got 9 stitches in my arm a couple month back. cost me 1300 bucks.... Im still trying to see if I can get them comp'd or on a payment plan becuase I have no work at the moment.

 

That is in addition to taxation that is intended to fund part of the healthcare system and is based on your income

I wonder if it will deter people like that albertin that milks off ours and others like her now that it has changed. So you guys really dont have pre existing conditions, how long are the waits to get broken bones fixed and what not? She was making out to be a horror story? I think it was her rich and fancy oil blood that was hyping it up....

Broken bones you get fixed right away , it's not medieval .

The longer waits are for stuff like hip and knee replacement surgeries etc

 

Yes she paid, then took the receipts and got her healthcoverage to reimburse her. So your system paid, not her. And WERD, she told me her kid broke his forearm and had to wait a month to get it fixed.

 

You know, that's what that Holmes on Homes guy up there fixes in houses.

The Alberta provincial system allows for private clinics within the system , kind of a hybrid , also if a procedure is done out of country and not elective in nature , it is usually covered , either way our system or her private insurance paid for her procedure so I don't know how that could be classified as milking
