Hmm....Well that sucks! I was always told they have to give it to you. I had a dick head cop giving me attitude for something I didn't do, I asked for his badge number and his attitude changed fast. Some cops are cool as fuck and some just are on a massive power trip. Never had to many problems though

 

As he said any mods to a car or truck is against the law and "can" be ticketed.. Laws in cali suck balls..

 

Sounds like he was just an asshole cop that kept finding thing to critique. Also, he obviously doesnt like Tacomas lol

 

Yet if he was all business but wrote out a few hundred bucks of citations he would also be an "asshole"

I'm just gonna throw this out there take it or leave it but for the most part, if you don't break the law, you don't have to deal with "asshole" cops.

Don't break the law but if you do is it really the cop who is the asshole?

no, if i'm doing something wrong i will take the ticket and deal with it, my point is that if the cop is an asshole from the get-go, then he deserves whatever attitude he gets back.

Call me weird or whatever but after I went through hell with traffic school, paying fines and surrendering my truck, I saw the cop who gave me the ticket and thanked him for doing so.

 

Well, I don't generally speed anymore, I obey traffic laws, but if I cop wanted to treat me like some kid, I would get really pissy, that's what it sounds like with the OP, bitching to me about a CAI???? Really, like don't you have some donuts to eat or something?

 

I'm not saying I'm an angel here, but my tail lights are ever so slightly tinted. Its not even noticeable... but what grinds me gears BIG TIME is the cops I've seen these days who think they are above the law. Just two days ago near my own house, I was driving right next to a cop, Roseville PD IIRC, we were both going like two grandmas racing next to each other, come up to a light thats changing, have MORE than enough time to stop and he straight up guns it and blows directly through a red light. No lights, siren, no indication he was on a call. This is only one of NUMEROUS different things I've seen in the past few months, not to mention cops waiting at the city limits and tailing me as I come into my own home town EVERY TIME I CAME. CHP has been decent it seems since I've been here, but cops in general these days really need to get a hold on their job. The job is to uphold the law, you are the law, however you are NOT above the law.

 

They are into bagels now. Get with the program.

I've been pulled for my tails twice, and even though I got a ticket both times, both officers (State troopers if it matters), were courteous.

 

I dont consider modding my truck "breaking the law" hell if thats the case pretty much every car or truck on the road is illegal then.

i once got pulled by CHP for no front license plate. after inspecting my truck and checking out the suspension and the front long travel he goes to ask if i know a company called Tail-Gear, and i say of course. he then asks a few questions about my suspension and eventually gives my license back. dude gets in his car and does freaken donuts in his cruiser then takes off

 

They used to be darker, I put two coats, a little too dark for my taste (I like to stay legal) but over a couple years the VHT fades, and I like where it is right now. Too bad I cracked my tail light the other day.... LoL



To the OP, I would give you a ticket for those tails. Do you have any idea that on a bright day you will NEVER see those brake lights. I absolutely hate that shit. Use your head man!

 

I had a similar story where a Sheriff pulled me over at age 16 in my Mustang GT and asked where I got my SVT Cobra wheels, then complimented me on the car and asked me to take off doing a full burnout...pretty damn sweet!

 

Jas.. there covers he had me take them off, the part that pissed me off was the ass chewing like my dad would give me when i was 12.. talk to me like an adult not a child, just because you have a badge and a gun dosent give you the right to disrespect me and tell me my truck looks like ass

 

I'm not saying that I condone all his actions, but you KNOW those tail light covers were not legal, you can't tell me that you didn't. You gave a blatant disregard for a law.... and its down right unsafe.... why should he respect you?

Never said i didnt know.. but to stand there and tell me my headlight mod,eyelids and intake and drop is illegal please..
Not everyone is a law abiding citizen, window tint is illegal also
