Stick on hood scoop from Autozone.
    It actually has this plate:

    :p

Still ugly though. Something about the front end just ruins it for me. :(

However, from the hood back, it's pretty badass.

I can see that truck for africa, south america, and border patrol. I cant imagine it'd see afghanistan though. The IED's theyre putting out now have no problem cutting the new MRAPs in half. That hilux would vaporize.

Id imagine they made them fold able to reduce the hang ups when loading onto a Chinook.

probably to tie rucks and packs to and depending on if they are connected to the frame, you could use them as attach points to quick exfil with a copter. EDIT. on further inspection they are probably just for utility purposes or for littlers if they fold in.

They're not going for 100% protection. This truck would mostly be used to run the desert patrols. Not much time in road convoys.

The Afghan Army and Police use unarmoured rangers.

I've seen a few of these in KAF when I was there in '10

    X2.

SF usually does alot of their ops at night. and having a truck that does not look out of place is great for CIED. MRAPS and other vehicles are huge, intimidating ,difficult to hide, not as fast and scream "!AMERICANS!". I would've loved having that thing. All we had was damn Chevy tahoes. those sucked. And everyone knows about the explorers, How the have extreme body roll. Add some armor to it and you become a ball. That truck is for maneuverability. If you had to go up a mountain, Would you rather have a 32 thousand pound vehicle or a toyota?

What's with the Interstate signs in the last pic? There is no Interstate in Moab, unless it's for I-70?

What's up with the bolts on the outside of the rims? Is it some kind of bead lock?

We still use hilux's in AFG. Sometimes you just gotta take your chances with IED's. I've got some good pics of some of my team riding in the bed of one while out on patrol.
