You have already made it past the most challenging point, realizing you have a problem. To keep this nice and short, you should now seriously consider quiting per your own orders, not the doctors. Kick it for good so you'll more then likely be around for years to come, and be able to enjoy that time with you friends, family and loved ones.

A good friend of mine passed away three months back. His death was directly related to alcoholism. He literally drank him self to death in the span of a two week period, after having a tragic incident occur in his personal life. We always knew he was a heavy drinker and had a problem with drinking, but no one ever imagined it would turn out like this. I hope this gives some incite to just how severe the consequences of what otherwise appears to be a minor problem can be. The guy was only 34 years old.

I wish you the best of luck!

none except for crappy hub caps and floor mats.
I make my own beer and enjoy drinking for the taste of it. But I usually have one beer a day, and that's pretty much it. But I sometimes wonder if I too should cut back because doing something everyday usually means you're somewhat addicted to it.

Ya, I guess you've got a point. But the thing is that my Wife's Mom is visiting us. She's sort of a tea-toatler. With her around, I realize that I do in fact have a beer pretty much every night after I eat dinner. Sort of like coffee. I don't usually get drunk. But a good porter when its cold is nice. But again- I do it every single day. I never thought about it that much.

I'd sure hate to not drink though. I love beer!
