"Pickup" or "Truck" what do you refer yours as?

Seems to be an ongoing debate with people I know. A truck is classified as a 18 wheeler and a pickup is a light duty civilian truck. I find myself calling my Tacoma a truck more often than pickup to be honest. How about the rest of you?

Truck. Hmmm... instead of my user name sounding like something a 5 year old would say, it would just be weird... pickupypickup

If i had an older vehicle it would be a pick-up (1950-80's) if its new its a truck.. pick-up seems to date my 2010 and i feel the term doesn't do it justice for all the gadgets it has

I always referred to body-on-frame vehicles as trucks, whether it has a bed or is an SUV. I'll refer to a 4runner as a truck too.

I call the vehicle pulling an 18 wheeler a tractor, but that's my insurance side talking.

I drive both ...

A pickup better be able to carry a whole lot more than my taco can and have a whole lot more power before it will ever qualify as a truck. Tractor-trailers, dump trucks, flatbeds, well rigs ... those are trucks - we just qualify for pickups. Agreed that calling our tacos a truck sounds better, but it just ain't right

a truck has a cab and a bed. a car has a trunk, and SUV gets crappy gas mileage and a van kinda looks like an SUV and gets better gas mileage. My wife drive an 07 Rav4 and its classified as a wagon go figure but i im not sure what to call it (car mostly it does have a spot under the floor board where most cars spare tires go that could be considered a trunk). anyway thats how i classify vehicles.

Depends on context. In normal conversation, I refer to it as a truck. If talking about moving something, I'll say throw it in the back of the pickup.

I've always called cars cars and suv's and trucks I call trucks. I sometimes refer to my fiances wrangler as a truck but mostly I just call it the jeep, but I think from now on I'm just going to refer to my truck as "the greatness."
