For those of you that have seen a Military Burial, you know it is a moving experience. We finally laid my Father's ashes to rest in the new Jacksonville National Cemetery today. I won't show all of the pictures but here is a few with the Honor Guard. The young men and women that perform at these functions are truly amazing. I am proud of my father's Navy service and I'm proud that I witnessed professional military personnel at its finest.

Sorry for your loss. I'm honored that you shared that with us. Thank You.

Can't see for the fog in my eye bro. My grandpa was the only military funeral I've been to, I was 10 and remember it like yesterday.

My grandmother has a letter signed by President Regan offering his condolences to my grandmother after my granfathers death, WW2 VET, she asked me what I wanted in her will, I said one more day with you, she said really, what do you want. I said that letter. I haven't received that letter yet, and I don't ever want to.

I think MacArthur said, Old soldiers never die, they just simply fade away. I don't agree with him, I remember my grandfather all the time. That is how I honor him. I miss him every day. Kevin Thanks for his service to our country.

Sorry for your loss and thank you for sharing. My wife's Grandfather was a Pearl Harbor survivor. It was a very humbling experience to witness the military rifle salute, folding and presentation of the flag to his wife, and the playing of Taps.
