    very anxious. . .

and if you don't mind me asking, what line of work are you in? not asking for the name of the company or what not, but im guessing it's an engineering or construction based type of business?

Good call. I work for an engineering consultant. We do on and offshore oil and gas facilities. I'm a structural engineer by trade.

Yup, 4lbs is a bit much to be throwing with only 100lbs of counterweight. The machine is pretty bulletproof at this point, although storing it is going to suck!

The video is currently processing in Vimeo. I recorded the initial throw with my phone and then slowed it down to see how the machine was working. It's not the best, but the gopro will be out tomorrow to get good video of the competition.

    Subbed.

We had a similar competition at my job a couple years ago. Much less weight and we were only throwing softballs without the floating arm. Best part was I won the raffle and got to take one home.

You should have seen us at Home Depot cherry picking the straightest boards we could find. We still had to brace the hell out of it to get everything somewhat square.

Looks like a nice machine. How far did it throw?

    Almost....

Ok, here is the first video I have of the machine working. I've slown down the video to see what's really happening. The inital throw is nice and smooth which is what counts. There is a bit of bouncing around afterwards, but that's ok.

If you'll watch the bottom left of the video you can see the ball coming out.

It definitely has a lot of power. The release pin at the end of the throwing arm has the potential to maim someone if they get in front of it.

I was thinking of aiming it at the partners windows and lob partially filled water baloons at them.

The company I work for is Audubon Engineering. We're out on the beltway and westheimer. One of the main reasons of stayed here through the BS is because of the family environment and the extracuriculars.

Is there any particular reason why my video isn't imbedding properly?
