I've had both my debit card and gov't travel card #'s stolen somehow. Have you been to a shady type of restaurant? Or maybe a hotel of some sort? I think that was how both of mine got taken.

My wife is a manager at wells Fargo. Thieves are getting people's card and pin numbers thought ATM skimmers. It's a little strip they put in the card slot that stores the information on from customers cards. They slide it in then go retrieve it later and voila they have your card number pin number etc. wells Fargo branches have to check ATMS daily for this device. I fucking hate crooks. Once they have your info they make a card with your info and whoevers name they want on it. Retailers can't tell it's fraud they look legit. Use caution guys! I don't even use ATMs anymore, if I need cash I withdraw it in person.

Probably afraid you might go shoot the guy. 2 years ago someone in the states bought a top of the line Apple computer on my visa for $2800.00. Since I live in Canada it was pretty obvious I didnt purchase it (think it was being shipped somewhere in Cali., they wouldnt tell me more than that though). I buy a lot less shit online since that happened.

I'd still be careful with withdrawls in person. A month ago someone was going into my old bank and taking money out of my checking acct. Had me freaking out cause they would have to have an ID and a debt card. Turns out it was someone with the same name but the teller was dumber than hell and just clicked on the first name that popped up. Needless to say Chase sucks

NEVER GIVE CREDIT CARD INFO OVER PHONE!
That is the first step in preventing a lot of this kind of stuff. I would NEVER trust even a lawyer with my credit card information over the phone. I have had problems with credit before (Divorce will do that to ya) But I tell any attorney or collection agency that if they want a dime, they can mail me a letter. I won't discuss money on the phone.

Cant find anything on this "Attorney" from Texas. If you cancelled your card and alerted your bank of the suspicious activity there is nothing more you can do. (Unless this became personal and you are out for some vengeance. In which case please keep us updated!)

This happened to my wife and I, we went to a friend's wedding and used a credit card for the hotel. It was the only time we'd used that card the entire year and it was only used to pay for the hotel rooms, but a month later we get a phone call from the credit card company asking us if we'd recently made several large purchases. Check the account and we had $1800 worth of unauthorized purchases on the card, the only thing I can think of is that some hotel employee had installed a number catcher on the front desk's swipe machine.
